Specialist Area Of Work
Marketing Executive

Q: When did you join Haven Knox-Johnston?

A: I joined in October 2024 and have enjoyed every minute so far.

Q: What’s the best bit of the job for you?

A: At the moment it’s continuing to learn about the marine industry and all sorts of boats, as this was new to me when I joined. A particular highlight is seeing how beautiful some of the liveaboard narrowboats are!

Q: What sort of boat do/did you own/sail?

A: I own a paddleboard does that count?

Q: How did you get into sailing?

A: This job has certainly spiked my interest in sailing, but I tried paddleboarding on the river Avon a few years ago, bought my own and loved it ever since.

Q: What’s been your greatest sailing experience?

A: I once went on a catamaran off the coast of Madeira and went dolphin watching, it was incredible.

Q: Got any future sailing ambitions?

A: I’d love to just sail more generally! I’m new to sailing, so I’m open to trying anything.

Q: Where would you say is the best place to have fun on the water? Canoeing in Kent? Banana-boating in Benidorm?

A: My top place currently is the Lake District, particularly Coniston and Ullswater for paddleboarding, it’s absolutely gorgeous. There is also a brilliant campsite next to Bala Lake in Wales and it’s perfect for waking up and getting straight out on the water.

Q: What’s your favourite boat-related film, book or song, and why?

A:It has got to be The Boat that Rocked, I adore all the music in this film, and love Radio generally. So, a pirate radio station broadcasting from a ship in the North Sea with some fab actors… what’s not to love.

Q: And finally… what’s your favourite riverside pub?!

A: Living in Worcestershire means there’s a fair number of lovely pubs along the Severn, Avon and Teme here… I’d say the Holt Fleet in Holt Heath on the River Severn or the Fleet Inn in Twyning on the River Avon.
