Luke Patience, Anna Burnet, Charlotte Dobson, Lorenzo Chiavarini – all achieved Olympic campaign successes and came from a similar area/school as me.

What would be your best advice or top tips for younger sailors or new sailors?

My best advice would be to learn as many boats as possible to gain transferable skills and to also enjoy whilst doing it.

Tell us something about you that no one else knows (the more unusual the better!)

My Grandpa was a detective and worked on the Bible John case in the late 60s.

What’s your superpower?

I can make beer disappear.

What bit of sailing kit can you not live without? And why? (clothing/gadget/etc)

During winter team racing, I can’t sail without my ‘eskimo’ hat as it keeps me toasty and is also our mandatory team uniform.

What’s your ultimate dream? (this can be sailing or non-sailing)

Design and sail an Americas Cup yacht.
